Life On Mars

I love this Show, this show came on BBC America last year, late summer. I can't wait for series 2 on BBC America. They have already finished Season 2 in the UK, and even planning a spin-off series called Ashes to Ashes.

This is the wiki on Life On Mars. Check it out if you can, I know it's out on DVD in the UK, I have not seen it here yet.

The format of the series mixes science fiction – specifically, time travel – with police drama. The central character is DCI Sam Tyler of Greater Manchester Police (played by John Simm), who, after being hit by a car in 2006, finds himself somehow transported back to 1973. There, he works for Manchester and Salford Police CID as a DI under DCI Gene Hunt (played by Philip Glenister). Over the course of the series, Tyler faces various culture clashes, most frequently regarding differences in his approach to policing compared to that of his colleagues. The series also features a strong ambiguity concerning Tyler's predicament: It is unclear whether he really has travelled back in time, is in a coma in 2006 and imagining his experiences, or if he is from 1973 but mentally unstable.

Happy 30th Star Wars!

Yesterday, Was the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars! I sketched this up while I waited for Fern to conclude her shopping.

Oddly Normal

Yeah, I said I was going to bed, but discoverd I was not sleepy, so I'm posting another pic.
This, quick sketch I did two years ago when I met Otis Frampton
during Free Comic Book Day 2005. Me, my boy Marc Deering, and Otis were back in the cut at Amazing Fantasy having a good time. Otis was kind enough to give me some comp copies of Oddly one, at the time. So after reading it, I sketched this up with the strong intention of making nice tight pencils, and inking it. Just never got around to it. So the plan will be to make a new penciling of this, ink it, and send it to the Oddly man! We will see if I follow through this time. I will post the progress.

Anyway, Otis is a good guy, and he has Oddly Normal: Family Reunion
coming out soon, so go and cop that!

Warm up colors

This is the color joint of the pics below. Well it's 4:26am, beter go to bed, gotta get up at 7 to go to work.

Maybe, if we called it CSI: Jericho...

I posted this at CBS.com: We viewers are aware that canceling Jericho is based on speculation that the show will be unprofitable in the long run. The promise of passionate support isn't enough to save it or make you believe that you've made a mistake. Proven formulas work. The CSI trend is successful because the show's original concept was innovative for dramatic TV, even though viewers had already seen similar stories in documentaries on other channels. Therefore, creating other CSI shows is understandable. The same can be said for Survivor and Amazing Race. Reality shows are successful, although it took a while for Amazing Race to catch on. Fans of that show are extremely passionate and loyal. The same can be said for Stargate. Once that show moved to Sci Fi, it did better than ever. The viewers of Jericho are more likely fans of shows such as Heroes and Lost. We fans must wonder what CBS didn't do to support its own show. We fans have no doubt that CBS may never realize how lucrative Jericho could've been. A new show such as Pirate Master may be successful but more likely will never surpass the initial success of Survivor. The show that brings in overwhelming ratings must have an innovative concept - that requires risk (time and money). Meanwhile, we fans must remain content with formula shows.

lunch doodles

Just a couple of joints sketched up while scarfing down my sandwhich at lunch today.
One, is just a goofy cartoony sketch of yours truely, and the other is of Amanda Storm, one of the main characters in our book Blood Shed.

Fern's Birthday

Well It's Fern's Birthday tomorrow, my significant other turns...well we wont say her age, perhaps she will be renewed!! Renew! Renew! Well actually we are both well beyond 30, and still desperately evading the sandmen enforcers! It's always a good time for Logan's Run reference! Anyway, Happy B-Day to Fern!

Cover Ideas

This is a cover idea that I have been toying around with for one of the upcoming plots in the Blood Shed web comic. I will ink it,color it, and post it in phases. This of course is my raw penciles.

1st post of the year!

It's been awhile, but since only a few of my peoples actually read this damn thing, I can't give myself too much of a hard time. Anyway..this has been a hard year. Some good people close to me have passed away, and it really makes you think about your life, and where you are going with it. I am not so much of a deep introspective person, but with the death of my friend Joe Davis, I have been pushed to internalize, and contemplate what matters to me, and what I want most for myself.
My day job consumes my life, long hours, overtime...leaves little time for things I enjoy. Comics!!!! So I am going to try damned hard, not to let other life issues get in the way of the things that I enjoy doing. Drawing, and comics. I still have to work and pay bills mind you, but I will make a stronger effort to do what I love. With that said...I am scanning, lettering, and halftoning the new Blood Shed Comic. We are putting it on the web along with it's spin off series the Phactor. So stay tuned...more to come.
