It's been awhile.

It's Been awhile since the last post. Sorry. We have been busy. Not that many people visit here anyway. However, for those that show us love from time to time, we apologize for the wait. With that being said...The update is as follows we are working steadily on bshed 4. Marc Deering is back working on inking those pages that have been sitting on his drafting table for months. Not his fault though, them dudes over at image had him tied down. Kanilla is workin them colors, and my slow ass is finishing up the last bit of pages. Hey we got day jobs! ok? I'm posting a page from bshed 4. This takes place during Trident's (Amanda Storm) interrogation of Ana Ramsey. Thanks for visiting.

Free Comic Book Day Sketch Girl

This was a fun little piece I did while doing the free comic book day signings.
I needed a sign that advertised my price for sketches that day, so I whipped up this cute girl. Marc Deering laid down some inks on the girl, and we all kinda liked it, so I decided to post it here on the blog. It will be up on the doubleeye.com site next week.

Enjoy

Busy and tired!

I have not posted since saturday. I have been a little busy this week. I have had a a serious computer problem, I plugged in my new USB scanner, and my vaio went out like a light bulb. The tech shop, had to end up sending it off to Sony for fixing. Good thing I got plenty of old computers lying around. I have a damn graveyard for old computers in the studio closet. So I just dug out an old laptop, and I'm back in business using this old HP, until sony sends my joint back to me.

The day job is keeping me busy, and working on the new issues of Blood Shed at night leaves me with little sleep. I am also tryin to workout at the GYM a bit, cause life behind the drawing table without excercise will cause the space between your belly, and the edge of the drawing board to decrease severly! So trying to do the GYM, the day job, and the comic, is tiring me out a bit. I will be posting some new stuff to the site soon, as well as some pics here. It's damned beautiful outside. Hate to be inside on a day like this, but one has to work.

update at doubleeye.com

I have just posted some new images in the portfolio/sequential section of the site. Their are 4 penciled pages, and 3 inked pages from the upcoming issue 4 of Bloodshed. I have also posted the color pinup of Rook, that you can also see posted on this blog. Marc's inks look good, he makes anyone look good. I cant stress how important inkers are to the craft of comic book creation. God Bless the inkers!!!

RooK

This is the main character is a new book that double eye plans to put out next year sometime. It's a creator owned project from our editor on blood shed Shane McNulty. Rook is a cool complex character, and I cant wait to see what shane has written for this guy. This pic was inked by Marc Deering. We did this about a year ago, I like the inks Marc laid down.

What up

I guess this is just a simple log meant to catalog what we are doing, whether its working on our comics, Blood Shed and RooK, or just our thoughts on various topics. There are not that many comic creators around here in Hampton Roads, VA, so we mostly hang out and talk with the Electric Deer Studios guys, our Homies - Marc Deering and Chris Staggs. When Travis Johnson from Variance Press is in town, we’ll hang with him too.

So from time to time, I will be posting about how those guys are doing and what various projects they are working on. However, you can hit up their site too. The links are to the side.
Anyway, we are hard at work to get the next issue of Blood Shed out. It’s been over 2 years and it’s time. Boy is it time! My pencils have come a long way since the first issue. I have been working hard to improve my skills in that area. I am not where I want to be yet (who ever is really.)

So this blog will be to catalog my experiences as I strive to be a better penciler and overall professional artist. Anyway, we are working diligently on the next ‘ish’ and our buddy Marc Deering is lending his mega talent on the inks. Marc is damned awesome! He is presently working on an Image title called Blacklight. Stroll over to Marc’s website and take a look. He and penciler, John Toledo, along with Kanila Tripp, who is also doing the colors on our book, have done some killer work on Blacklight. So check that joint out.
