Check out reruns this summer.

Fern....

Below is a message from CBS Entertainment.

June 6, 2007

To the Fans of Jericho:

Wow!

Over the past few weeks you have put forth an impressive and probably unprecedented display of passion in support of a prime time television series. You got our attention; your emails and collective voice have been heard.

As a result, CBS has ordered seven episodes of “Jericho” for mid-season next year. In success, there is the potential for more. But, for there to be more “Jericho,” we will need more viewers.

A loyal and passionate community has clearly formed around the show. But that community needs to grow. It needs to grow on the CBS Television Network, as well as on the many digital platforms where we make the show available.

We will count on you to rally around the show, to recruit new viewers with the same grass-roots energy, intensity and volume you have displayed in recent weeks.

At this time, I cannot tell you the specific date or time period that “Jericho” will return to our schedule. However, in the interim, we are working on several initiatives to help introduce the show to new audiences. This includes re-broadcasting “Jericho” on CBS this summer, streaming episodes and clips from these episodes across the CBS Audience Network (online), releasing the first season DVD on September 25 and continuing the story of Jericho in the digital world until the new episodes return. We will let you know specifics when we have them so you can pass them on.

On behalf of everyone at CBS, thank you for expressing your support of “Jericho” in such an extraordinary manner. Your protest was creative, sustained and very thoughtful and respectful in tone. You made a difference.

Sincerely,

Nina Tassler

President, CBS Entertainment

P.S. I can't wait for series 2 on BBC America. They have already finished Season 2 in the UK, and even planning a spin-off series called Ashes to Ashes.

This is the wiki on Life On Mars. Check it out if you can, I know it's out on DVD in the UK, I have not seen it here yet.

The format of the series mixes science fiction – specifically, time travel – with police drama. The central character is DCI Sam Tyler of Greater Manchester Police (played by John Simm), who, after being hit by a car in 2006, finds himself somehow transported back to 1973. There, he works for Manchester and Salford Police CID as a DI under DCI Gene Hunt (played by Philip Glenister). Over the course of the series, Tyler faces various culture clashes, most frequently regarding differences in his approach to policing compared to that of his colleagues. The series also features a strong ambiguity concerning Tyler's predicament: It is unclear whether he really has travelled back in time, is in a coma in 2006 and imagining his experiences, or if he is from 1973 but mentally unstable.

Happy 30th Star Wars!

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_d1Ju2kqVMws/RljDNnFji3I/AAAAAAAAABU/TEI57Nge1JY/s320/obi.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5069016019203492722" />

Yesterday, Was the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars! Me, my boy Marc Deering, and Otis were back in the cut at Amazing Fantasy having a good time. Otis was kind enough to give me some comp copies of Oddly one, at the time. So after reading it, I sketched this up with the strong intention of making nice tight pencils, and inking it. Just never got around to it. So the plan will be to make a new penciling of this, ink it, and send it to the Oddly man! We will see if I follow through this time. I will post the progress.

Anyway, Otis is a good guy, and he has <BlogItemURL>Oddly Normal: Family Reunion
</BlogItemURL> coming out soon, so go and cop that!

Warm up colors

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_d1Ju2kqVMws/RlaeFHFji1I/AAAAAAAAABE/0Gf_q6T0DIk/s320/anna_colors.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5068412241290955602" />

This is the color joint of the pics below. The promise of passionate support isn't enough to save it or make you believe that you've made a mistake. Proven formulas work. The CSI trend is successful because the show's original concept was innovative for dramatic TV, even though viewers had already seen similar stories in documentaries on other channels. Therefore, creating other CSI shows is understandable. The same can be said for Survivor and Amazing Race. Reality shows are successful, although it took a while for Amazing Race to catch on. Fans of that show are extremely passionate and loyal. The same can be said for Stargate. Once that show moved to Sci Fi, it did better than ever. The viewers of Jericho are more likely fans of shows such as Heroes and Lost. We fans must wonder what CBS didn't do to support its own show. We fans have no doubt that CBS may never realize how lucrative Jericho could've been. A new show such as Pirate Master may be successful but more likely will never surpass the initial success of Survivor. The show that brings in overwhelming ratings must have an innovative concept - that requires risk (time and money). Meanwhile, we fans must remain content with formula shows.

Fern

Anyway..this has been a hard year. Some good people close to me have passed away, and it really makes you think about your life, and where you are going with it. I am not so much of a deep introspective person, but with the death of my friend Joe Davis, I have been pushed to internalize, and contemplate what matters to me, and what I want most for myself.
My day job consumes my life, long hours, overtime...leaves little time for things I enjoy. Comics!!!! So I am going to try damned hard, not to let other life issues get in the way of the things that I enjoy doing. Drawing, and comics. I still have to work and pay bills mind you, but I will make a stronger effort to do what I love. With that said...I am scanning, lettering, and halftoning the new Blood Shed Comic. We are putting it on the web along with it's spin off series the Phactor. So stay tuned...more to come.

DT

Reworked

Kinda reworked the logo, and title a bit. I was really impressed with this dude, and enjoyed his book. Not too long ago he created this character called Detective Boogaloo, I love this webcomic, I love the characters, I love the old school hip hop vibe. Mike Wieringo did a sketch of Det. Boogaloo, and it was awesome! It inspired me to do a little sketch, my joint aint know where near as good as Wieringo's, or Jamar's, they are both fantastic artists, but I was inspired so I thought I would sketch something up. Anyway here is the page.

The warm up

This was a silly little pic I did, based on a little anime figure I have sitting on my book shelf. Sorry. We have been busy. Not that many people visit here anyway. However, for those that show us love from time to time, we apologize for the wait. With that being said...The update is as follows we are working steadily on bshed 4. Marc Deering is back working on inking those pages that have been sitting on his drafting table for months. Not his fault though, them dudes over at image had him tied down. Kanilla is workin them colors, and my slow ass is finishing up the last bit of pages. Hey we got day jobs! ok? I'm posting a page from bshed 4. This takes place during Trident's (Amanda Storm) interrogation of Ana Ramsey. I have been a little busy this week. I have had a a serious computer problem, I plugged in my new USB scanner, and my vaio went out like a light bulb. The tech shop, had to end up sending it off to Sony for fixing. Good thing I got plenty of old computers lying around. I have a damn graveyard for old computers in the studio closet. So I just dug out an old laptop, and I'm back in business using this old HP, until sony sends my joint back to me.

The day job is keeping me busy, and working on the new issues of Blood Shed at night leaves me with little sleep. I am also tryin to workout at the GYM a bit, cause life behind the drawing table without excercise will cause the space between your belly, and the edge of the drawing board to decrease severly! So trying to do the GYM, the day job, and the comic, is tiring me out a bit. I will be posting some new stuff to the site soon, as well as some pics here. It's damned beautiful outside. Hate to be inside on a day like this, but one has to work.

DT

Free Comic Book Day!-After

Just finshed up the 2 signings at AF comics for free comic book day! Their are 4 penciled pages, and 3 inked pages from the upcoming issue 4 of Bloodshed. I have also posted the color pinup of Rook, that you can also see posted on this blog. Marc's inks look good, he makes anyone look good. I cant stress how important inkers are to the craft of comic book creation. God Bless the inkers!!!

DT

Rook part 2

This is just a quick color flat of the Rook, just an initial color guide, but I liked it, so I posted it.

DT

Free Comic Book Day

Hey,
the double eye crew, has been honored with an invite for a signing at Amazing Fantasy comics on free comic book day. It's a creator owned project from our editor on blood shed Shane McNulty. Rook is a cool complex character, and I cant wait to see what shane has written for this guy. This pic was inked by Marc Deering. There are not that many comic creators around here in Hampton Roads, VA, so we mostly hang out and talk with the Electric Deer Studios guys, our Homies - Marc Deering and Chris Staggs. When Travis Johnson from Variance Press is in town, we’ll hang with him too.

So from time to time, I will be posting about how those guys are doing and what various projects they are working on. However, you can hit up their site too. The links are to the side.
Anyway, we are hard at work to get the next issue of Blood Shed out. It’s been over 2 years and it’s time. Boy is it time! My pencils have come a long way since the first issue. I have been working hard to improve my skills in that area. I am not where I want to be yet (who ever is really.)

So this blog will be to catalog my experiences as I strive to be a better penciler and overall professional artist. Anyway, we are working diligently on the next ‘ish’ and our buddy Marc Deering is lending his mega talent on the inks. Marc is damned awesome! He is presently working on an Image title called Blacklight. Stroll over to Marc’s website and take a look. He and penciler, John Toledo, along with Kanila Tripp, who is also doing the colors on our book, have done some killer work on Blacklight. So check that joint out.

DT

Testing

just a quick test
